How to Find Your Passion for Blogging

Have you ever gotten to a point were you felt worn out writing for your blog and implementing all the hard work of marketing? The writing you used to enjoy gradually becomes a chore. You readers are either getting on your nerves or not just encouraging you to church out new content. These tedious little tasks start getting to you.

Blogging, like any business, is like being in a marriage. That initial spark can fizzle out but you don’t want to quit. However, you do want to get some old magic back so you try to put the little extra work in to keep the spark alive.

Here are some ideas to help you rediscover your romance for blogging again

1.  Learn Something New

The human brain never stops wanting to learn, is never able to learn. We don’t just get to a certain age and stop learning. When you get to a certain age and stop learning, your brain starts to die. Learning new things is what made your business so much fun at the beginning-that crazy learning curve. At times, you may have been overwhelmed or intimidated but it was also exciting.

If you must preserve this passion and continue enjoying your business, you have to keep learning. When you stop at what you already know, you’ll begin to get bored and some clever competitor will be waiting to snap at your heels. Learn a new skill to add to what you already have. Dive into topics that scare you. Learn or trying something new will give you a refreshing feeling at the end.

2. Do a Q&A Call

If you have self-doubt problems or are not really offering anything valuable, then consider a free Q&A call with your audience. You can use a teleconference service to announce to your readers that you would like to take their questions and answer them live. This can be done as a blog post or a competition for some free one-on-one consultations. It could be a great way to build up traffic and attention quickly.

You will find you know much more than you give yourself credit for. You might not answer every single question, but let your questioner know that you will look into it- more learning on the way.

This can be exciting and build confidence much more than you know. You feel much important and energized to see how much help you have been and can be to people who read you.

3. Connect

What are your favorite blogs? Visit them again and drop comments on their most recent posts. Remember how you always wanted to create content just as good as theirs. Let them inspire you to try it all over again. Begin to plan for the next live event in your topic. Connect with owners of these blogs as well as readers who leave great comments. Connect with another blogger just about the same level as you. Connect with other persons on Twitter who put a smile on your face.

If you like to be with your self most of the time, schedule a time for solitude to refill the well. Ensure you get a perfect balance between socializing and your “me’ time.

4. Write Your Manifesto

One of the things that would keep you going in the dark days of glut is a manifesto presenting your core values and mission. Grab a paper and outline all the things you want to achieve, who you want to be and don’t want to be. When you have come up with essential values that your business stands for, you will discover they create a feeling of thrill within you. Be plain and don’t bore with platitudes. Let your values put a lump in your throat and make you feel a duty to fulfilling that statement week after week.

5. Find a Coach

Most new-comers in business believe they can do everything alone. We draw our map and follow it to the later. While all that is cool and being self-reliance is bold, you will not be cheating yourself to get help along the way. Starting out with a lot of drive and passion is great but you might be taking steps in the wrong direction with all of that zeal. Working with a business coach can help you see things better and keep you in line with what you need to be doing which would help you achieve more and enjoy the process of doing this better.

Like a personal trainer at the gym, a coach will only help you realize how strong you can be but isn’t going to do the work for you. To get a good coach, find someone who shares your values, resonates with you and has a lifestyle that will challenge you to do more than you could have done on your own.

Blogging is a journey, not a destination. There will be bumps on the road but if you follow these helpful tips, you will enjoy a smoother journey and retain control all through the drive.
